A California endemic, this slow-growing tree puts on about a foot a year (up to 140 feet) with horizontal branches and aromatic wood. The seeds were a highly esteemed foodstuff of California Indians and will attract numerous birds and other wildlife. Torreya are dioecious; you need a male and female plant to set seed. |
