| Calocedrus decurrens |
Incense Cedar |
|
A large, fragrant, and beautiful evergreen tree that thrives in serpentine and other low-nutrient soils. Foliage can remain all the way to the ground, so it makes a beautiful large soft-edged hedge if you hand-clip back to the brown stems to shape. Shearing doesn't look right given the coarse open angular texture of the foliage and will cause the tips to turn brown for a while till they recover. |
